Bad photos on Flickr help with camera shopping

So I’m looking at buying a DSLR, and I’m balancing price/value with capability and quality to come out with the best camera for my needs. I’ve only rarely worked with professional- and expert-grade cameras, usually just tinkering with ones belonging to the photographers that I work with. Pretty much all of the photography that I’ve ever done, either for personal use or for-hire has been shot with a point-and-shoot of some sort. I pretty much converted over from shooting a combination of film and digital to just shooting digital about four years ago, and if there’s one thing I really...

Holding out for Diablo III

Diablo II is probably my all-time favorite PC game. I, not unlike many others, have been holding out for a sequel to tie up some loose ends and give us some new adventures. Diablo III has been rumored many times, and supposedly, it was even under development at some point:

Life-changing albums

This was a harder list to make than I thought it would be. This definitely isn’t a list of what I consider to be the top five best albums I’ve ever heard — that list would differ rather significantly from this one. In particular, I came across a post in which this LJ’er had posted icon sets of both actors. With the two icon sets one after another, I realized that the two actors look a LOT alike. I mean, look! (Weatherly is on the left,...

Confessions of a self-professed slob

I’ve never been what you’d call an organized person. I’m most certainly not a neat freak. If my room wasn’t a total mess when I was growing up, it was still cluttered, with a “residue” of mess around the edges of the room, stacks of books and papers, a messy desk and a layer of dust so thick in some places that an archaeologist might have a little fun excavating my trinkets. And don’t get me started on the hairballs that could be scraped up off of my carpet or pulled out of the vacuum cleaner. (Of course, with waist-length...
